Golden Gate Lodging

I have to honestly say that when I saw the price of less than $100 when all rooms within 2 hours of Burlington VT were $500 plus I was skeptical and scared! But driving an hour to sleep after a show instead of driving 4 is much safer. I was wrong the hotel is clean! Smells clean looks clean and actually is clean! The room is set up perfect with a table and stove and fridge the bathrooms are spotless with newer toilet sink and tub. Guy at the front desk awesome! We haven’t even slept yet just got here but wanted to make sure I remembered to leave a review! And let’s talk about the amazing view of lake Champlain We will be returning! Thanks a bunch!

Came from Canada to enjoy the 4th of July. Was a great location: close to the Plattsburgh city beach and 10 minutes from restaurants/ shopping center. 50 second walk to the McDonalds (convenient for late night). Rooms were clean (especially the corner room with a window overlooking the private beach). Service was great!,Bob was very friendly and helpful. Already recommended to our family & friends and will definitely be coming back. Bonus: were able to watch the 4th of July fireworks from the comfort of our private beach

Location was great! The beach was clean and swept recently, the rooms were basic, but quite accommodating for the price. Small rooms but it was great for a weekend getaway when we were exploring the area and just sleeping there. TV, swipe key card, balcony second floor, private beach, you could walk on the beach to McDonald’s! Had hot water, TV, shampoo, soap, towels, fridge and microwave! The walls are a little thin, and you can hear when people come and go as the doors are heavy and the geese were on the beach you can hear, but nothing we couldn’t sleep through!

The room was clean and comfortable, but it was a bit over priced. For the price they should offer some kind of breakfast. The staff was excellent and very friendly. They changed our room from the second floor to the first floor upon request and we mistakenly left our computer at the motel, someone found it and returned it to the office and they kept it safe until we could return and pick it up.

This was a perfect spot for me. Room was cute and the bathroom is updated and clean. Love the special touch with the elephant ear towels. Stayed for 3 days visiting family and didn’t break the bank. Don’t judge a book by its cover with this one.

What an amazing hotel. It was clean, in a beautiful location on the water with a beach right behind the hotel. The staff was friendly, and made conversation during checkout.

The room was very clean and looked even better than the photos. I don’t want to even give it a negative review because it felt safe and clean and the price is great, but I was not able to sleep at all because the window on the door that is mentioned in other reviews. I can sleep with some light on, but it was like a floodlight spotlighted directly on our faces all night and doesn’t have any kind of furnishing to even cover it. Please please PLEASE install a curtain over these! It’s actually a deal breaker like the light is egregious at night and I’m not picky about stuff like sound and light! I have a head cold and the bed is so soft and only furnished with 2 very thin pillows so I was essentially sleeping with my feet and body elevated and my head down so all in all I don’t feel rested and woke up feeling a million times worse. It’s a great place besides these issues, but the light is the biggest one. If you can get a room that doesn’t have the bed facing the spotlight in your eyes, you’ll probably really enjoy it!

Called in and booked a room with the help from Bob who was very professional and genuinely helpful. Got my confirmation number and was impressed by the customer service over the phone. Bob left me with an excellent first impression of Golden Gate Lodging! The stay was worth it at a great price too. The beach was serene; the room was very clean and had what I needed. I would revisit and recommend.
